I do not love the approach of using informal language by waitresses (in Polish you can say you in two different ways- like with friend or Mr, Mrs and they were using the friend one) because it is usually connected with lower level of respect.
But spring rolls were tasty. But were (too) many of them.
As I heard it has an amazing history (irony) as it was the first Hard Rock Cafe in this part of Europe. Really I don't understand what that is about... Starbucks, Hard Rock Cafe, MacDonald... everything everywhere is the same? wake up people, wake up... variety and difference is amazing!
Niekoniecznie podoba mi się podejście do wszytskich na "Ty", bo w Polsce w jakiś sposób jest to od razu powiązane z mniejszym szacunkiem.
Ale spring rollsy były git. Aczkolwiek duużo :-)
Usłyszałam niesamowita historię (ironia)- ze Haard Rock Cafe w Warszawie była pierwszą w tej części Europy. Ludzie, co się z Wami dzieje? Starbucks, Hard Rock Cafe, MacDonald... wszytsko wszędzie takie same? obudzcie się. przecież to właśnie różnorodność i różnice są niesamowite!

Food was quite okay (walnut paste in mashrooms was amazing!), worth visiting for lunch. But waitress were incredibly poor. And that is all I can say. You can wat there, but don't walk to much to get there ;-)Jedzenie było smaczne (orzechowa pasta w pieczarkach niesamowita), warto się wybrać na obiad. Obsługa była fatalna. I chyba tylko tyle mogę powiedzieć. Nie żeby nie dało się zjeść, ale nie tak super by nadrabiać drogę by tam zajść.

Bezimienne dzieło
Tym razem teatr. I tym razem Witkacy. Już prawie nie pamiętam kim był. Tylko jakieś szczątkowe informacje walają się po mojej głowie. Jakoś mi tak głupio, że stałam się takim kulturalnym wybrakowańcem (po moim ostatnim słowie można stwierdzić, że językowym również). Tak mi brakuje niektórych rzeczy, a przecież wszystkiego się mieć nie da. Może uda mi się jakoś ścisnąć pozostałe aktywności by kultury kosztować ciut więcej. Choć ciut więcej. I zrozumieć czego chcę dokładniej w kulturalnej zawierusze. Bo teraz przecież wszystko jest wszędzie. Wszystko krzyczy by to mieć i być. By zabrać, obejrzeć, dotknąć. I kupić oczywiście. Moje problemy narastają. Chociaż z drugiej strony może nie? Coraz bardziej wiem, czego nie chcę, nie lubię, co nie sprawia mi przyjemności. To też jakieś sensowne kryterium wyboru. I wcale nie trzeba być pewnym. Trzeba próbować.
To tym razem był Witkacy. "Bezimienne dzieło". Ani nuda, ani wielkie "och!". Podobały mi się obrazy. Takie, że w wieeeelu chwilach chciałabym zrobić zdjęcie, bo kompozycja była bardzo ciekawa. Myślałam kiedyś, że chciałabym być krytykiem teatralnym. Chyba jednak by mi się to nie udało...
This time it was theatre. By Witkacy. I almost don't forget who he was. Only pieces of information are walking around my head. I feel quite uncomfortable that cultural events recently are not so present in my life. I miss some those things, but from the other hand you cannot have everything. Maybe I will manage to squizee some activities to taste the culture more often. A litte more. ANd actually to understand what I really need in this cultural mess. Because now everything is everywhere. That everything is screaming to take it. To watch it, to touch. And buy. My problems are growing. Although, maybe not? I know more what I don't like, what doesn't give me pleasure, what I don't want. And it is quite reasonable criteria of selection. And it is not necessary to be sure. It is necessary to try.
So this time it was Witkacy- "Bezimienne dzieło". Nor boredoom, neither big "woow". I liked "snapshots". That in many moments I wanted to take a picture because composition was so interesting. I used to think about being a theatre critic. hmmm not sure I would manage.

hello Wrocław, Graciarnia + Bułka z masłem
This time I said "hello" in Wroclaw. I generally visit Wroclaw quite often as it is my home city that is not so far away from place I live (quite often means once per one/two months). I has really nice time- full of activities and things to do. I found an amazing coat (unfortunately too expensive. I mean really to expensive) and some nice pair of shoes I wasn't sure I should buy. So I didn't. Will have a look in Warsaw ;-)
I went with M to Graciarnia for couple of drinks (some of them were okay and I pured red whine on beautiful, handmade napkin... oops) which is one of my favorites places in Wroclaw (Graciarnia means "full of grats" and grat is in Polish, an old item, not necessarily needed that only takes space). It has nice, quite unusual atmosphere, like in grandma's room. Good place to move to the past somehow ;-)

Next we went to "Bułka z masłem" what literally means roll with butter ;-) and is a stylish interior, a bit in a style the kitchen I showed you and, for the first time in my life I tried worm, white wine (!!) :-) Maybe it wasn't an incredible experience for my tongue but I liked the idea. They have burgers, sandwiches, salads- I like places like that, even thought you want to taste everything ;) and there is outdoor space (waining for warm weather). I think I can be back there right now to try more. Kind of addictive space I guess. Fortunately not so close ;)
And bachelorette party- girl's night with amazing food :D Quite looong night.
Znów byłam we Wrocławiu- jako, że nie jest to miejsce moich rzadkich odwiedzin (a wręcz przeciwnie- jestem tu raz na miesiąc/ dwa), bo mieszkam w jakiejś sensownej odległości. Przyjechałam na wieczór panieński B. który okazał się bardzo długą nocą.
Cały weekend był pełen "rzeczy do zrobienia" i na szczescie udało mi się jechać w piątek, a wracać w poniedziałek (praca zdalna może być ekstra!), więc udało mi się choć troszkę zrobić. Znalazłam niesamowity płaszcz w sklepie, ale niestety z niesamowitością szła cena i była cholendarna... trafiły się też fajne buty, ale się nie zdecydowałam, więc będę jeszcze szukać w Wawie.
Byłam z M. w Graciarni. Wypiłyśmy kilka drinków, wylałam czerwone wino na śliczną, szydełkową serwetkę. To chyba jedno z fajniejszych, moich ulubionych wrocławskich miejsc. Taki trochę pokój babci z dodatkami i jeszcze większą ilością niepotrzebnych rzecz. Co, jak co, ale klimat ma i taką fantastyczną atmosferę. Takie trochę cofnięcie do innych (dawnych) czasów.

Poszłyśmy też do Bułki z masłem- fajne wnętrze, takie trochę jak podobajaca mi się kuchnia i po raz pierwszy tam piłam grzane BIAŁE wino. Może smak nie był jakiś powalający na kolana, ale zdecydowanie sama idea bardzo mi się spodobała :D Są też tam burger, kanapki, sałatki itp. Lubię to miejsce mimo, że chciałabym spróbować wszytskiego ;-) i mają patio na zewnątrz (już nie mogę się doczekać ciepła na zewnątrz). To jest chyba takie trochę uzależniające miejsce, na szczęście to nie jest tak blisko ;-)

A chignon for a fascinator

Fascinators are becoming more and more popular in the US. Many of our most fashionable friends are building small collections of gorgeous headpieces and that’s reason enough to do a tutorial on a hairstyle that will accomodate them. This is a fairly easy hairstyle to execute and doesn’t require a ton of coordination. In fact, that’s one of the things I love the most about fascinators- they look their best when paired with a simple hair style. Of course you’re not going to wear a fascinator to work, but it’s such a great addition to an outfit when attending any sort of formal party. Okay, here we go!
- You’ll need a couple of larger bobby pins and a thin rubberband.
- You’ll want a side part for this because the fascinator is going to sit on the side with less hair. Create a section from your ear up to the part as you see in photo 2. Clip all that hair out of the way and save it for the end.
- On the side with less hair, twist everything back and over your ear.
- Clip it in place using a claw clip.
- Lightly tease the rest of your hair. You want to do this so that the bun you’re about to make will be a little fuller. If you have super thick hair you’re welcome to skip this step.
- The hair shouldn’t be agressively teased. It should look like picture 6.
- Remove the clip and keep twisting in an upward motion. Twist it right into a bun shape and secure using the thin rubberband. Go ahead and insert one of the large bobby pins for security.
- Take the section you had clipped up out of the clip. Lightly twist that in an upward direction and wrap it around the bun. Secure it using your other large bobby pin. If you have thicker hair and you need more pins, go for it!
- Once everthing is secured, lightly pull at the bun if you want to make it a little bigger. If you like the size of it, you can skip this step.
- Spray all over using a firm holding hairspray.
Each fascinator is different. Some come with clips, some with headbands, some with combs, and some vintage ones come with nothing. Attach the fascinator on the side with less hair. I usually recommend attaching it just slightly below the part. You can obviously wear this chignon without a fascinator if you want. Would be great for bridesmaids or any special event for that matter!

I like cosmetics like that! It forces us to think about ourselves in a different way. "For the area that gets talked to the most. A product to make that most enticing area even more enticing". I think that really often is not about what cosmetics you use but what you make with it- if you really massage your skin etc. And for me this is the same in this case- cannot really say if that works, but I am trying to believe it does. So I keep using it :-) And hope it will give some results. But just the approach- having a special cosmetic for this area- it's kind of luxurious. An it smells incredibly. Go and try!
Uwielbiam takie kosmetyki! Zmuszają one nas do myślenia o sobie w trochę inny sposób niż myślimy. Uważam, że moc kosmetyków nie tkwi w tym, jakiego kosmetyku używamy, ale co z nim robimy- czy naprawdę masujemy skórę etc. I w tym przypadku jest podobnie- nie mogę powiedzieć, czy to naprawdę działa, ale wierzę że tak :-) Wiec będę używać. I mieć nadzieję, że jakieś rezultaty są. Ja po prostu to podejście- posiadanie kosmetyku tylko dla tego kawałku ciała- to taki rodzaj luksusu. Bardzo przyjemny. No i pachnie obłędnie. Spróbuj!

butchery & wine
I don't have my own pictures (yet- will visit again) because that was a business meal, but... I have my opinion and with pleasure will share :-)
Pictures I found on the website Butchery & Wine do not really show the simplicity and ellegance of this interior. For sure I could show that better ;-) But this is what I wanna tell about the place regarding the visual experience- it is nice to be there, not so sophisticated decor. It goes well with little black dress as well as with normal jeans & high heels. Point for that.
Let's move to food and wine- that's the reason we were there :-) And I cannot hide, as I mention at the beggining that I'm gonna come there again, that place is perfect. I do not really eat steaks- so I can say that it was my almost first time. I will count this as my first time- and this first time was perfect. So soft, so silky... So I like steaks since then :-) We started from tatar (again, I do not really like raw meat... but I was encouraged so well that I gave it a try and don't regret!) and then wait a while for our filet mignon (now I know that that is) because they were prepearing one piece for 3 ppl- a big piece of meat. The aroma.. mmm and the taste... I don't know how to write about this kind of food so I will just say it was delicious and it is not only mine opinion :-) Side dishes were perect as well- especially parsley root caramelized with honey- this is something I need to try by myself at home.
The perfect complement was a glass (or two) of Telish, an intense Merlot from Bulgaria. And as a dessert (I was not able to eat anything) a glass of porto. So reminded me nice time near the ocean in Portugal ;-)
Nie mam własnoręcznie robionych zdjęć (jeszcze- pojawie się tam ponownie) gdyż byłam na spotkaniu biznesowym, ale za to mam swoje wrażenia, którymi chętnie się podzielę :-)
Zdjęcia, które znalazłam na stronie Butchery & Wine nie oddają wdzięku, prostoty, uroku i elegancji miejsca, do którego trafiła. Oczywiście, moje zdjęcia idealnie to przedstawią ;-) Ale właśnie to widać w wystroju- miło jest tam być, dekoracje nie przesadzone, a może w sumie tak naprawdę ich tam nie ma. Idealnie pasuje zarówno do małej czarnej, jak i jeansów ze szpilami. Za to mają plusa.
Czas na jedzenie i wino, czyli powód naszej wyprawy (pomijając oczywiście przyczyny biznesowe ;-) Tak, jak wspomniałam wcześniej- mam zamiar pojawić się tam ponownie, miejsce jest idealne. Generalnie nie jem steków (to jakieś takie dla facetów, ja jem zielone), więc to był jeden z moich pierwszych razów. Niech liczy się za pierwszy raz. Co to był za pierwszy raz! Miękki, jedwabisty... Więc od tego momentu lubię steki :-) Zaczęliśmy od tatara (i znów... nie lubię surowego mięsa... ale współtowarzysze mieli takie umiejętności przekonywania, że musiałam spróbować i... nie żałuję!) i czekaliśmy na nasz filet mignon (już wiem, co to jest!) sporą chwilę, gdyż przygotowywany był jeden duży kawał dla trzech osób. Aromat... mmm smak... Nie wiem, jak się pisze o takim jedzeniu, było niesamowicie smaczne, nie tylko w mojej opinii. Dodatki też były niczego sobie- zdecydowanie zaciekawiła mnie pietruszka karmalizowana miodem- muszę spróbować zrobić to sama w domu.
Idealnym uzupełnieniem posiłku była lampka (lub dwie) wina Telish, intensywnego, bułgarskiego Merlota. A jako deser (jako, że nie byłam w stanie zjeść już niczego więcej)- lampka Porto. I przypomniał mi się czas w Portugalii, nad ocenam...

I have sooo many problems with making decisions. All the time. And I am really afraid of the process of planning and decorating my flat. I will have too many ideas and be afraid of making a mistake. But I still have some time to think and decide. And earn money :D So far I found some nice interiors, I like them. What about you? I think Jenny Komenda has a taste (not mine all the time, but impressive).
Mam straszne problemy z podejmowaniem decyzji. Ciągle. Mam troszkę obawy, jak będzie, gdy będę planować zakup mieszkania i wymyślać, jakie meble kupić i jak je udekorować. Będę miała miliard pomysłów i będę się bała efektu końcowego. Ale mam jeszcze trochę czasu by pomyśleć i zdecydować. I zarobić :-) A w międzyczasie znalazłam dość ciekawe wnętrza Jenny Komeda. Część w moim guście (a część nie).

TBS & Mango Day
It was a Mango Day, or rather a Mango Evening :-) with Mango Body Butter and Mango Scrub from The Body Shop.
I love the scrub (even thought it doesn't scrub so well) because the layer it leaves on the skin makes my body so soft and silky :-) And the smell!!! Omg it is just amazing!
Suprisingly, the body butter is not good. Not really moinsturize, not really smell nicely, will not buy it again, for sure.
The scrub... well... probably ;-)
To był Mango Day (po polsu zdecydowanie brzmieć dobrze nie chce), albo lepiej wieczór z mango (też brzmi słabo...) czyli użyłam po prysznicu Masła do ciała Mango i peelingu Mango z The Body Shop.
Peeling uwielbiam, nie dlatego, że świetnie ściera (bo tego nie robi mega), ale z powodu warstewki, jaką pozostawia na skórze po użyciu, dzięki której skóra jest miękka i jedwabista. I oczywiście zapach! Jest niesamowity!
Zadziwiająco, masło do ciała nie robi furory. Nie nawilża jakoś za dobrze, nie pachnie specjalnie, nie kupię po raz kolejny, na pewno.
Za to peeling... jest to wysoce prawdopodobne ;-)

In 3D. I like silence the most. More than music actually. And there is a complete silence. It is a different kind of movie. Something worth watching, but you cannot really give it a mark or compare. It is good because it is different. Go and watch it. But in 3D. And it is breathtaking, so remember to breath :-)

And this one was really...there were no world outside the screen. I was there, couldn't move and sometimes couldn't breath because of the atmosphere (not like above). Tension all the time. In my opinion it is really well made.

Jak dla mnie to naprawdę okej. I już. Nic więcej. P. się podobało, mnie niekoniecznie, ale nie było bardzo źle. Zależy od gustu.
Grawitacja
W 3D. Generelanie uwielbiam ciszę, zazwyczaj bardziej niż muzykę. I tak jest właśnie taka zupełna cisza. Film jest zupełnie inny niż wszystkie i właśnie dlatego warto go obejrzeć i nie da się jego do niczego innego porównać. Idź i zobacz. Ale w 3D. No i zapiera dech w piersiach, więc nie zapomnij o oddychaniu ;-)
Uwięzieni
Jak dla mnie naprawdę dobrze zrobiony. Ja miałam problemy z oddychaniem (ale z innych powodów niż w przypadku Grawitacji). Serce waliło mi jak oszalałe. Lubię takie fimy, ale mogę nie przeżyć, jeśli będę je oglądać za często ;-)

Bourjois- Effect 3D lipgloss
I used to like and use L'oreal lipglosses, but since now my only love is Bourjois Effect 3D. Obviously, it does not stay 8 hours (how come it could? unreasonable promise), but still it is my love. I am just finishing it... Need to come back to L'oreal* as I already bought it, but then will try Burjois again. Hopefully it is not an accident and it will be a true love :-)*Since some time I am trying (though it does not mean it is successfull) not to use 10 lipsticks and lipglosses at once. That is why I am not planning to try a new Effect 3D from Burjois in close days.Hopefully that will work :D

It was my first time in Aioli. For sure not the last one. It has this fancy atmosphere and is popular right now in Warsaw. But, puting that on a side, it is a nice place which I like and will visit again. And food is creative and delicious. Drinks are just fine. "Baked pumpkin, gorgonzola picante, baked leeks, caramel hazelnuts" in a baguette- what a nice meal!
To był mój pierwszy raz w Aioli. Ale na pewno nie ostatni. Jest teraz popularna dość mocno w Warszawie i taka trochę za bardzo modna. Ale, jedzenie jest bardzo fajnie zrobione- z nutką kreatywności i świetnie smakuje. Drinki ok. "Pieczona dynia, gorgonzola picante, pieczone pory, orzechy laskowe w karmelu" w bagietce- smakowało super!

If you are in Warsaw and you are at least a bit interested in history it is a must. Museum by its own it is quite interesting, but history behind that... just amazing. I was in theatre. Kalina Jedrusikik played by Katarzyna Figura.
Jak mówi Katarzyna Figura: "to będzie także rzecz o nas wszystkich: o silnych kobietach, wolnych w rozwijaniu siebie samych, odważnych w wypowiadaniu swoich sądów, wbrew wszystkiemu i wszystkim."
Szczerze to niewiele wiem o Kalinie Jędrusik. Nie wiele słyszałam. Nie moja epoka. Zabrzmiało dziwnie? Tak, owszem słyszałam o niej odrobinę, pewnie tyle, ile słyszeć powinnam, ale już nie pamiętam... Gdy się o niej mówiło to nie istniałam wcale, a potem byłam mała. Kojarzę oczywiście śpiewane przez nią piosenki. Takie przebłyski. Dzięki monodramie Figury, kojarzę bardziej. A co ważniejsze, chcę kojarzyć jeszcze bardziej i dowiedzieć się czegoś więcej. Co, jak nie właśnie uczucia "więcej" powinna wywoływać sztuka? Może jeszcze czasem "wystarczy, było doskonałe".
Zdecydowanie na spektaklu można było pokazać jeszcze więcej. Ale owacje na stojąco pokazują, że było bardzo dobrze. Różnorodność formy, dobrze zaśpiewane piosenki, widać wejście w rolę. Jestem pod wrażeniem. Muszę obejrzeć kilka filmów z Jędrusik.
Wygląda jeszcze, że Figura, opowiadając historię Jędrusik, opowiadała też trochę swojej historii. Jak dużo? Pewnie tylko ona sama to wie.

You will see ;-) Prawdopodobnie najwcześniej otwarta kawiarnia z TAKĄ kawą. Jeśli lubisz kawy niestandardowe, przyjdz. Nie mówię o "latte" ani "o smaku kokosowym". Zobaczysz ;-) |
