Sitting at work. How to survive?

1. Drink a lot of water. Buy a carafe or a bottle, put some water and infuse it with herbs, flowers, fruits. Mint or lemon are obvious choices. What about berries, rosemarry or peach?
You can also try the interesting brain teasing cup that changes water into a drink in our mind ;)

Start small. If you are not a water person- don't drink 2 liters at once. Your kidneys won't be happy. Learn to drink a few slips every half an hour. You can use Pomodoro as a reminder.

2. Walk. This one is connected with the previous. If you drink a lot of water, you will visit toilet often. That is a good excuse ( no choice...) to move your legs a bit. And this is really important.

If nobody looks at you, you can make a skip, burpiees, run, or just move your arms.

3. Don use a lot of make up, especially not the ones that dry your skin. In winter, with heating, skin gets completely dry. With additional help of cosmetics, it can be disaster. A face cream can be on hand. A hand cream is a must.

4. Buy a pouch to put on your chair. It gonna work with your spine and, eventually, make your life better. Good chair is important as well, but not always you can make a decision about it.

5. The top of your monitor should be on your eyes high. That prevents neck/spine pain, wrinkles on the neck and general feel. So you need to put the monitor high or buy a laptop supper. There are even foldable ones!

6. Forget about your lenses, wear glasses. You can also use moisturizing drops, but there are two schools- one saying that it helps and not have bad influence, second that the eyes get used to those drops and cannot work without. Definitely from time to time we can use it without any harm.

7. Exercise. You must work out after work. If you sit a few hours a day there is no option that you spend whole evening on the chair. Go for a walk, do jog a or Pilates. Dance. Stretch. Move!

8. Humidify your environment. If needed, buy an appliance that will help you with the dry air.

9. Go outside the office if you can. Ideally every hour you go outside and breathe 'fresh' air.

10. Put used (cold) teabags on your eyes for ten minutes, when at home. It will dramatically help, unless you added homey to the tea ;)

11. If possible, have a standing up desk. I dream about it!

12. Roll your body. Buy a foam roller and massage your body. Lose in the fascia will make tremendous impact on your feel. If you can afford, have a massage as well.
